History of Inovan

 

 We are celebrating our 70th anniversary!                         

Since the founding in 1952,  our company has written successful stories. The material developed by the company founders was a real innovation in best quality. There were interesting, great and exciting times in which various people left their mark. But one thing remains the same today: Our company name reflects our daily vision: To be innovative in best quality. Interesting. Innovative. International: Inovan.

1952

Inovan was founded in Birkenfeld. Founders: Emil Kiefer and Fritz Ruf.

1957

Expanding of the rolling mills, installation of  electroplating and punching department with its own tool shop.

1966

The new building is located in Birkenfeld, Industriestr. 44, Brötzinger Tal (Today´s Plant I).

1972

The building Finkensteinstr. in Birkenfeld was acquired.

1974

The administrative building part was expanded and also the electroplating and the research laboratories.

1979

Family Balluf acquires sole ownership.

1986

William Prym GmbH is a co-shareholder with a 25% stake in Inovan.

1987

The Degussa Precision Engineering Plant (today´s Werk II) was acquired.

1988

Die Inodor in Stolberg was founded.

1990

Building of a new area with the Business Unit Surface Technology.

1992

Unidor GmbH in Birkenfeld was aquired.

1992

Introduction of Bonding Technology.

1994

William Prym GmbH increases its shareholding to 100%.

1996

Introduction of Mircostamping Technology.

1998

The factory was expanded and a new logistic center was built.

2003

Foundation of Inovan Tianjin, China.

2003

Expansion of the assembly production and integration of plastics technology.

2006

Inovan und Inodor merge into Inovan.

2007

A new area was built for Business Unit Surface Technology.

2007

Inovan starts Al-Si-Production.

2009

Inovan implements the nano layer systems.

2011

Expansion of Business Unit Material Technology.

2017

Business Unit Plastics Technology was founded.

2020

Foundation of Inovan Zliv, Czech Republic

2020

Relocation of the site in China from Tianjin to Changzhou.
